Psychotherapy
Many of our patients combine Neurofeedback therapy (also called Neuromodulation therapy) with psychotherapy for an integrated approach.
Psychotherapy – also known as counseling, psychosocial therapy, talk therapy or, simply, therapy – is a treatment method aimed at helping people with a wide variety of mental illnesses and emotional challenges. Psychotherapy can help patients eliminate or control troubling symptoms so they can heal from any past traumas, function better and increase overall wellbeing.
During psychotherapy treatment, you will learn about your condition and explore your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Over time, psychotherapy will also help you learn how to gain control of your life and respond to difficult situations with constructive, healthy coping skills.
In some cases, psychotherapy can be as effective for a patient as medications, such as antidepressants. However, depending on your specific circumstance, psychotherapy by itself may not be enough to ease the symptoms of a mental health condition. This is why we recommend combining psychotherapy with Neurofeedback therapy.
